Launched in 2024, the health coverage program Alafia has evolved into an enhanced version called “Alafia +.” Yas-Togo aims to strengthen its support for the top-performing sales point managers by combining health protection with financial rewards and professional equipment.
Commercial success is no longer measured solely by sales volume. At Yas-Togo, it also opens the door to better health protection and new material advantages. The telecommunications operator has introduced “Alafia +,” an upgraded medical care program designed for sales point managers, who are key players in its national distribution network.
Originally launched in January 2024 under the name “Alafia,” the program now has a clear goal: to strengthen the relationship between the company and its commercial partners by making their well-being an integral part of the business relationship. The new version notably expands the benefits granted to the best distributors and includes rewards linked to their commercial performance.
“We have enhanced the Alafia program by adding several benefits, especially in insurance,” explains Daniel Godevi, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) at Yas-Togo. He adds that the Platinum-ranked sales point, recognized as the best, now automatically qualifies for Alafia +, unlike the previous system. Beyond health coverage, beneficiaries can also receive financial rewards and equipment such as refrigerators and motorcycles to support their business activities.
On the medical side, the program reimburses part of the healthcare expenses. According to Daniel Godevi, beneficiaries can receive treatment at state-approved health centers and then submit their invoices to Yas-Togo via their mobile number. The system reimburses 80% of eligible costs, although the specific conditions of coverage remain crucial to understanding the full extent of this benefit.
The mutual insurance company TransVie supports the operational management of the health component. Its agency manager, Verona Nulewossi, emphasizes their role in monitoring: “We ensure that sales points receive care in approved health centers and submit their medical bills for reimbursement.”
Through Alafia +, Yas-Togo seeks to go beyond a purely commercial relationship to build a more sustainable partnership with its distributors. The true impact of this evolution will depend on the accessibility of care, the clarity of eligibility criteria, and the consistency of reimbursements. These factors will determine whether this initiative effectively meets the long-term health and economic needs of its beneficiaries.
